Dan Galindo lost his job as a federal prosecutor when he refused to call a lying witness in a drug trial. Now with enemies in the DEA, he only gets cases through his ex-bother-in-law, Rick Robbins and his music production company. Dan is unaware that Rick's business partner is Miguel Salazar, whose activities are closely monitored by the DEA. So when Dan breaks up with his girlfriend, Kelly, and she claims vengeance by telling the feds that Dan is involved in money laundering with Salazar, they have every reason to believe he's a criminal.
